Terms & Conditions
These terms explain how KOI KONA works, what you can expect from us, and what we ask of you. Please read them before you book.
About KOI KONA
KOI KONA (“KOI KONA”, “we”, “us”) offers private conversational experiences: time set aside for listening, reflection and meaningful conversation, in a calm setting chosen with you. Each experience is a human conversation, not a programme, treatment or course.
By requesting or booking a KOI KONA experience, or by using this website, you agree to these Terms & Conditions and to our Privacy Policy.
What KOI KONA is not
KOI KONA is not a medical, psychological, psychiatric, counselling or crisis-support service. Our hosts do not diagnose, treat or advise on any medical or mental-health condition, and a KOI KONA conversation is not a substitute for professional care.
If you are in crisis, are thinking about harming yourself or someone else, or need urgent help, please contact your local emergency services or a qualified professional straight away. Do not wait for, or rely on, a KOI KONA experience.
If you are currently receiving professional care, please continue to follow the guidance of your care provider.
Eligibility and appropriate use
- You must be at least 18 years old to book and take part in a KOI KONA experience.
- You confirm that the information you give us when booking is accurate and that you are booking for yourself, or with the knowledge and agreement of anyone you are booking for.
- KOI KONA is intended for people who are looking for a reflective conversation and who are not, at the time of the experience, in need of urgent or clinical support.
- We may decline or end a booking if we reasonably believe the experience is not appropriate for you or for our hosts.
Booking and confirmation
When you book, you choose your moment, conversation style, space, destination, experience and a preferred date and time. Your selected date and time are a preference, not a guaranteed slot.
After you submit your details and complete payment, we will contact you personally using the details you provide to confirm availability, the time and the arrangements. Your booking is confirmed only once we have confirmed it with you directly.
If we cannot offer your preferred time, we will suggest alternatives. If none of them suit you, please see section 06.
Fees and payment
- The fee for each experience is shown on the website before you pay and depends on the experience and destination you choose.
- Payments are processed securely by our payment provider, Razorpay. We do not see or store your full card or bank details.
- Fees are charged in the currency shown at checkout. Your bank or card provider may apply its own conversion or transaction charges, which are outside our control.
- Unless stated otherwise, the fee covers the conversational experience only. Travel, food, drinks, venue extras or other costs are not included unless we have agreed this with you in writing.
Cancellation, rescheduling and refunds
- If we cannot confirm your booking: if we are unable to offer a time that works for you, we will refund the amount you paid in full.
- If you need to reschedule: please write to us at hello@koikona.in as early as possible. We will do our best to find another time, subject to availability.
- If you need to cancel: please let us know as early as possible by email. We will review each cancellation request fairly, taking into account how much notice you have given and any arrangements already made for your experience, and we will let you know whether a full or partial refund applies before processing it.
- If we need to cancel or reschedule: if we have to cancel for reasons on our side, we will offer you a new time or a full refund, whichever you prefer.
- If an experience is ended early under sections 03 or 09, a refund may not be due.
Approved refunds are returned to the original payment method through Razorpay. The time it takes to reach your account depends on your bank or card provider.
Your responsibilities
- Give us accurate contact details and keep us informed if they change before your experience.
- Arrive on time and let us know as early as possible if you are running late.
- Treat your host, the venue and anyone around you with respect.
- Take care of your own wellbeing, and seek appropriate professional help where you need it.
- Look after your own belongings during the experience.
Confidentiality
We understand that what you share may be personal. Our hosts treat the content of your conversation with discretion and will not share it with others, except as described below.
Confidentiality has limits. We may need to share information, where appropriate, if:
- we reasonably believe there is a serious risk of harm to you or to someone else;
- we are required to do so by law, regulation, or a court or government authority; or
- it is needed to protect the safety of our hosts or to respond to a legal claim.
KOI KONA is not a professional service bound by clinical or legal-privilege confidentiality rules. Please share only what you are comfortable sharing. We ask that you also respect the privacy of your host and of anyone else involved in your experience.
Please do not record your host or the conversation without their prior agreement.
Prohibited behaviour
To keep KOI KONA safe and respectful for everyone, you must not:
- behave in a way that is abusive, threatening, harassing, discriminatory or sexually inappropriate;
- attend under the influence of alcohol or substances to a degree that makes the experience unsafe or inappropriate;
- record, photograph or film your host without their agreement;
- use the experience for any unlawful purpose, or to promote or sell products or services;
- misuse the website, interfere with its operation, or attempt to access systems or data you are not authorised to access.
Your host may end an experience immediately if any of these occur.
Intellectual property
The KOI KONA name, logo, website design, text, images and the format of our experiences belong to KOI KONA or are used with permission. You may view and share links to this website for personal, non-commercial purposes, but you may not copy, reproduce or reuse its content or branding without our written permission.
Limitation of liability
We take care in how we prepare and host every experience. However, to the fullest extent permitted by law:
- KOI KONA is provided as a conversational experience only, and we are not responsible for decisions you make or actions you take as a result of a conversation;
- we are not liable for any indirect or consequential loss, or for loss caused by events outside our reasonable control;
- our total liability to you in connection with any booking is limited to the amount you paid for that booking.
Nothing in these terms limits any liability that cannot legally be limited, or your rights as a consumer under applicable law.
Changes to the service and these terms
We may update our experiences, destinations, pricing or this website from time to time. Changes do not affect bookings that we have already confirmed with you, unless we agree otherwise.
We may also update these terms. The latest version will always be available on this page, with the date it was last updated. The version in place when you book applies to that booking.
Governing law
These terms are governed by the laws of India. Any dispute will be subject to the jurisdiction of the courts of India, without affecting any mandatory rights you may have under the laws of the country where you live or where your experience takes place.
If a problem arises, please contact us first. We will always try to resolve it with you directly and fairly.
